Paula Ribas - born Ilídia Dias Ribas on February 23, 1942, in Faro, Portugal, was a Portuguese singer who stood out in the 1960s, known as the ""queen of twist"". She began her musical career at the age of 17, participating in a new talent contest on Emissora Nacional. Throughout her career, she recorded several hits and participated in theater and film shows.
In 1969, Paula Ribas released the EP "Pena Verde". The title track, "Pena Verde", is a composition by Portuguese singer and composer Abílio Manoel. Paula Ribas' interpretation gave the song a new dimension, standing out for its emotion and depth. Interestingly, ""Pena Verde"" was later interpreted by other artists, but Paula Ribas' version remains emblematic.
Nelson Quinteto - a Brazilian musical group known for its interpretation of the song "Pena Verde". This track was also performed by Abílio Manoel on his 1970 album entitled "Pena Verde"
Unfortunately, detailed information about Nelson Quinteto, including the identities of its members and lead singer, is scarce. The group appears to have been active around the same time as Abílio Manoel's release, suggesting a possible period in the early 1970s.
